Fresh Start

This past Friday ended the first grading period for me at my middle school. Even though not a whole lot changes from the last day of a grading period to the first day, I feel like I'm getting somewhat of a fresh start. I've been at this school for over six weeks now, and as I begin a new period, I have much more confidence and knowledge. This is the first Sunday evening in a long time that I actually am not dreading work tomorrow. Thank you all for your prayers!

  1. Praise God for his reassurance and the peace we have from knowing He hears us. I read Thessalonians again for you this morning; thanking God for your faithfulness. I pray always for you for God's perfect peace in body mind and spirit, and that one of those kids will see Jesus in you. But the verse that comes to mind is Nathan's verse from 1 Cor 15:57. Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Verse 58 continues: Therefore, my beloved sister/daughter, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing your toil is not in vain in the Lord. Loves, Debbie

  2. Goodness, I am stricken with guilt, that I asked for only one student to see Christ in you, thinking to encourage you. I must ask for everyone of them. They are placed with you for a purpose. Yesterday in church we had a quote from C.S. Lewis, "Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither." I must set my sights higher; it is for Christ's sake we ask it, not for ourselves.
